I apologise for the OT about the H9 3rd Gen (even though it's also about the app, and with an issue that's in common with how the app behaves with the H95)Įdit: what's even worse? The B&O plugin app for the H9 3rd Gen is BROKEN, and it doesn't save the EQ to the headphones (it used to work with the old UI, they broke it with a software update), so unless you manually change the preset every time you switch them on, you'll have to stick with the NEW default preset which is what the headphones will revert back to every time you switch them on. (Again, I'm on Android, not sure whether things are the same with the iOS app) Let's see if they fix it before pushing the build to the "stable" app channel. Odd it made to production, but at least it was just in the beta app. Why!?īecause of these reasons, I believe it's a bug. No, they changed it 1.5 years after the product was released. The thing is - now they changed (and not a little change, an actually quite significant change in perceived sound) the DEFAULT sound profile, which - as you said - is absolutely insane (also, making it worse, but that's MY opinion).Īnd it's not like they changed it shortly after the release of the product (maybe because they realised they wanted it to sound in a different way, from feedback of early adopters, or because it distorted on some frequencies, or some other crap). I've personally never used the feature to enlarge the dot, because even though I've tested it plenty of times, I've never liked the way it sounded when the dot was anything but in th smallest size it could be. Then it got removed as soon as they introduced the new ToneTouch UI with the big circle instead of the squares, and got put back after that (but before they renamed - and slightly tweaked the graphics and colours of that circle that we have now - the preset thing from ToneTouch to Beosonic). The ability to change the size of the "dot" has been there since the H9 3rd Gen came out, when in the app they still had the old "ToneTouch" interface (the one with 4 big squares with different shades of grey).

For this reason I didn't noticed her presence or not in B&O app when I started using H95, about a month ago. I have also a B&O wireless speaker, and that option there was always in app, but I didn't use it much more. Anyway, I'm not completely sure that the previous Optimal profile had the same sound signature as the my actual Neutral. I also noticed the change in sound signature and, above all, the slight shift to the left channel and then I saved a new profile with the small circle at the center (named for me "Neutral").

And until the last app update I think there wasn't.

In another forum (I don't remember which one) I read that the above option was removed in all B&O headphone. It was a reply (8/2019) to a H9 user that was complaining for the lack of that option (the ability to modify the soundstage enlarging or reducing the circle in ToneTouch "equalizer").
